3 families will have Habitat houses in 2018!

Three deserving families will have Habitat homes built for them in 2018. This is made possible through the generous financial support of the Boone County community and the willingness of a whole cadre of volunteers.

The first home, the Faith Build, will be  for Brad and his 2 children in Whitestown.

Please come join us as we build a house for Brad Martin. Brad is a lifetime resident of Boone County and a single father of two kiddos that are his world. He has a teenage daughter Katie who is Daddy's little girl and a son Lucas who is a Mini-me. Brad has worked for the last four years for a asphalt company here in Boone County. His passions in life are spending time with his kids and motorcycles. Brad says "My family and I try to give back to the community as much as we can, My son was born premature and had some severe health issues in the beginning he was a Riley baby so we are big supporters of the Riley Foundation and the Ronald McDonald house. We are also animal lovers especially my daughter who wants to be a Veterinarian, so we are active with the Boone County Humane Society as much as possible. Recently we have been lucky enough to be involved with Habitat for Humanity of Boone County and look forward to continue the partnership with them in the future."

Our second build is a new campaign called The House that Beer Built and will be 1 lot over from our Faith Build In Whitestown.  Our Partner Family for this build is Sarah.

Sarah is the Event Coordinator for the Town of Whitestown. She is very outgoing and loves to help others and so her job is a perfect fit for her. In her spare time she enjoys doing crafts, watching IndyCar, and visiting local breweries. She’s a single mom to a young daughter with whom she is excited to share the Habitat for Humanity experience with!

The final build of the 2018 season will be our 5rd annual Women Build.  This home will be built for Lysa and her 2 children in Lebanon.

Lysa Maxwell is a delightful young woman whose smile will light up a room!
Her determination and tenacity have served her well. Despite several difficult times, Lysa has amazingly kept her positive attitude and become stronger.
She lives in Lebanon and has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the past 17 years at the Frankfort Hospital....formerly St. Vincent and now IU, working three 12 hour shifts each week. For the last two years, she has worked a second job at the Zionsville Truck Stop, thus meeting her financial obligations.
Lysa has four children----Zach and Sarah who are grown, 18 year old Reilly and 10 year old Tara. She is a wonderful, loving Mom who always puts her family first. As their home conditions were extremely unsuitable, they were able to move into temporary transitional housing......while greatly anticipating moving into their very own Habitat home this fall.
